Roedd Mai 1af, 2024 yn ddiwrnod hanesyddol yn natblygiad Neuadd Bentref Rhiwlas gan mai dyna pryd y dechreuodd y neuadd gynhyrchu trydan!

Llwyddwyd i ennill grant o £41,000 o Gronfa Ffyniant Gyffredin Llywodraeth y DU, trwy Gronfa Sector Gwirfoddol 2023/24 weinyddwyd gan Mantell Gwynedd, i uwchraddio’r Neuadd Bentref drwy osod paneli solar ar y to, ynghyd â  batris all storio’r ynni sy’n cael ei gynhyrchu.

Cwmni Menai Heating fu’n llwyddiannus gyda’u cynnig i osod y system. Gosodwyd 39 o baneli solar (all gynhyrchu 17kWp o drydan) ar do’r neuadd a chwe batri all  storio cyfanswm o 35 kWh o bŵer y tu mewn i’r adeilad

Oherwydd i system wresogi’r Neuadd gael ei diweddaru y llynedd – ei newid o ddefnyddio olew, i ddefnyddio trydan – bydd cost gwresogi’r adeilad yn llawer llai bellach, diolch i’r paneli solar newydd. A’r manteision amgylcheddol sy’n dilyn o hyn.

Bydd y Neuadd hefyd yn derbyn tâl am y trydan sy’n cael ei gynhyrchu, ond nid yn cael ei ddefnyddio yn y neuadd, ac sy’n cael ei allforio i’r grid.

Mae Pwyllgor Rheoli’r Neuadd, dan gadeiryddiaeth Elfyn Jones-Roberts, yn awyddus iawn i ddiolch i bawb fu ynglŷn â’r prosiect hwn yn enwedig  Angharad Owen am arwain ar y cais grant llwyddiannus, i’r trysorydd Kate Wheelock am arolygu’r cais, ac i Menai Heating am gwblhau’r prosiect i’r gost a’r amser y cytunwyd arnynt.

Ein diolch hefyd, wrth gwrs, i’r cyrff fu’n gyfrifol am ariannu’r prosiect:  grant gan Lywodraeth Cymru trwy law Mantell Gwynedd.

May 1st, 2024 was a historic day in the development of Rhiwlas Village Hall since this was when the hall started to generate electricity!

It was successful in being awarded a grant of £41,000 from the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund, via Mantell Gwynedd’s Voluntary Sector Fund 2023/24 to upgrade the Village Hall by installing solar panels on the roof, together with batteries to store the energy generated.

Menai Heating was the company that succeeded with their proposal to install the system. Thirty nine solar panels (capable of generating 17kWp of electricity) were installed on the hall’s roof and 6 batteries that can store a total of 35kWh of power are located inside the building.

Since the Hall’s heating system was renewed last year – changed from using oil, to using electricity – the cost of heating the building will now be much reduced, thanks to the new solar panels. And the subsequent environmental benefits that follow.

The Hall will also be receiving payment for the electricity generated, and not used by the hall, which is exported to the grid.

The Hall’s Management Committee, chaired by Elfyn Jones-Roberts, is keen to express its thanks to everyone involved in this project, especially Angharad Owen who led on the successful grant application, the treasurer Kate Wheelock for supervising the application, and Menai Heating for completing the work to the agreed cost and timescales.

Also, of course, our thanks to the bodies responsible for financing the project: the grant from the Welsh Government via Mantell Gwynedd.
